Stockroom Records wasn't built in a boardroom.

It all started as an idea from Dobbs Ferry native, Josh Dooz. The Owner and founder of Stockroom Records, first tried to open the studio in the actual stockroom of his parent's dance studio in Scarsdale.
​
It was built by artists. Late nights. Big dreams. Empty bank accounts. Packed rehearsal rooms. Last-minute sessions. Open mics. Podcasts. Friendships. Risks. Failures. Growth. Figuring it along the way. And an unwavering belief that independent artists deserve a place to create, connect, and thrive.
​
What started as a dream has grown into one of Westchester's most respected creative hubs, earning the title of Best Recording Studio in Westchester and becoming home to hundreds of artists, bands, producers, podcasters, and creators from all walks of life.
​
But Stockroom Records was never meant to be just another recording studio.
From day one, our vision was bigger.
We wanted to build a home for creatives.
​
A place where an artist could record their first song, rehearse for their first show, film their first music video, perform at their first open mic, appear on their first podcast, and meet the people who could help them take the next step in their journey.
​
Today, Stockroom Records offers professional recording, mixing and mastering, band rehearsal space, podcast production, content creation, music videos, photography, live performance recordings, artist development, and creative consulting.
​
But the equipment isn't what makes this place special.
The people do.
​
Over the years, Stockroom has evolved into the home of the Goodstock Movement, a growing community dedicated to helping independent artists connect, collaborate, and support one another. Through our open mics, live showcases, podcasts, artist interviews, content platforms, and networking opportunities, we've created a space where creativity and community coexist.
